Which is true irony since it was an example of what many Sena fans have said here, she is getting her karma for using underhanded methods, her pushing it off as bad luck is her naivety in believing that it's ok to hurt other people as long as she gets what she wants. It would make Yozora all the happier if everyone lost image in Kodaka's eyes, leaving only her, that in itself is a pathetic way to try and win. So based on that and THAT alone, methods wise Sena is way more honest and that is something anybody can appreciate even those who dislike her if they are truly being objective on the proper ways to try and win. Yozora's scheming and bitterness have caused her multiple backfires and disapproval from Kodaka, and in many instances this black mood seems to be pulling her down farther. Those who are firmly in her camp see these attributes as cute, but that is the way you are identifying with them, not how Kodaka sees it. Kodaka often comments on how regrettable Yozora's views of others are, sometimes he's even shocked by how bitter she is. But all hope may not be lost. It is true that Yozora is beginning to change her ways as well, she was able to apologize for the plagiarism and she recognized that it wouldn't be right to play the movie without Rika. This shows that she is starting to see the effects of her actions and the importance of the other neighbors club members, if not other people in general. Sometimes people have to be shown the error of their ways before they seek redemption, and that may be what we're seeing here.

Rika and Kodaka: Holy development Batman! I put these two together because right now their developments are the most closely linked. Both of them realize that, despite the others being unaware of it, the members of the neighbors club are already friends. The difference is in how they wish to proceed from there. Rika is ready to put the cards on the table and call everything out, she also wants to acknowledge her friendship with Kodaka and possibly pursue something more. Rika also reveals that much of her super perversity is an act that she originally used as a sort of protection against being rejected, but now stays with as a way to keep the club continuing as is. Kodaka on the other hand appears terrified that acknowledging the friendship among the club members will be the end of everything, and so he'll do anything to maintain status quo. Is Kodaka as aware of the romantic feelings of the other members as Rika is? I'm not so sure. But, he definitely understands that Rika is willing to sublimate her own feelings and maintain the super perv scientist character just for Kodaka's benefit. Even if they haven't said it out loud, these two understand that at the very least they are friends. You don't make those kinds of sacrifices for an acquaintance.

So, who will win the heart of our pudding-haired hero? Who the hell knows but the author! But I do enjoy the analysis, that's half the fun in reading these!!
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-95455091051331851.post-24785433293646027422013-01-31T01:03:00.853-08:002013-01-31T01:03:00.853-08:00CONTINUED

Although many of the recent chapters and one to one moments have involved her, I'm not sure she is the lock that some seem convinced of. A previous post stated that Sena is going about learning to make friends the normal way....Really? By normal do you mean playing galge and basing your social interactions off the situations therein? Also, Sena still has her unfortunate, borderline terrifying, obsession with Kobato. I seriously doubt that Kodaka would be able to date someone who his may need to file a restraining order against. Sena also continues to suffer from her egomania and fails to see the impact of her actions on others. However, in her favor, Sena is starting to learn how to connect with others. During the creation of the movie she is even able to compliment the others, something she never would have done in the beginning.

Yukimura: Yeah,I agree with everyone else here, never gonna happen. Even though she has begun to develop a little more personality and a bit of backbone, she'll always be more of a second tier character. Although, Yukimura's character does provide us an interesting insight to Kodaka. As the last few chapters have shown, Kodaka is much less oblivious than we thought. Do you really think he isn't aware that Yukimura is unable to deny anything to her Aniki, and I do mean anything. This shows us that Kodaka is aware that you can't really have a relationship with someone who worships you instead of caring for you (yes, there's a massive difference), and that he isn't just opportunistic when it comes to women. Actually, his compassion and support of Yukimura is one of my favorite things about these books, especially when he could so easily abuse her adoration.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-95455091051331851.post-87252885938555472232013-01-31T01:01:57.330-08:002013-01-31T01:01:57.330-08:00First off I’d like to thank Vexed for yet another ...First off I’d like to thank Vexed for yet another great chapter. I really do appreciate your translation, not only the speed but also the quality of the editing. Some ln translations are just horribly awkward, but yours always flow very nicely, well done.

Now, for the overblown argument at hand. I'm going to lay out a few basic things here. First, I regard each version of this title as its own entity, I don't care which is considered canon or not, but observations of the manga and anime don't influence my views of the ln. Second, if you need to post comments with insults, prejudiced remarks, or foul comments like the phrase "butthurt" (seriously.....how many times can you use that?) then I'm pretty much thinking you're a little too emotional in your reaction to the ongoing dialogue here. Third, let's not forget that this is a discussion regarding the events in a work of fiction, we can enjoy the discourse without all the anger and vitriol. That said I'd like to look at the various characters and their recent events and motivations.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-95455091051331851.post-17636925066076033542013-01-30T15:17:24.032-08:002013-01-30T15:17:24.032-08:00That last comment was uncalled forThat last comment was uncalled forAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-95455091051331851.post-10242941567655479922013-01-30T13:06:25.586-08:002013-01-30T13:06:25.586-08:00No censorship that's annoying as of now, I mea...No censorship that's annoying as of now, I mean during the Homo Club episode they cut out Sena reading the title of the game but that's about it, we will see how they treat Rika's cursing during the rollarcoaster, as for fanservice nothing noticeable censored so far.
